I’ve been practising yoga since 1992 and am passionate about its power to transform our lives.
After some years attending yoga classes and occasional workshops, in 2006 I was fortunate enough to find myself in India attending a program with my now teachers and mentors, A.G. Mohan and Indra Mohan. It was during this 2-month experience that my understanding of yoga deepened to a point where it became an integral part of my life, and I was inspired to share the practice with others. The Mohan family have been the guiding light for me both in my personal practice and as a teacher, I am honoured to be a senior teacher in the worldwide Svastha Yoga & Ayurveda organisation.
Following my initial training, I managed and taught from a studio in Auckland for the following 9 years. In 2016, I made the decision to give up teaching studio classes and now prefer to teach outside of the typical studio environment and teach small, relaxed classes from my home studio where I am able to focus my attention on the areas I am most passionate about – personalised yoga, yoga therapy and yoga education.
I have been teaching the Svastha Yoga & Ayurveda Teacher Training program in New Zealand since 2008 and facilitate and co-teach the Svastha Yoga Therapy Program with Dr Ganesh Mohan.
I am a certified yoga therapist with the International Association of Yoga Therapy (IAYT).
Fundamentally, yoga is a practice of self-care. It has sustained and inspired me through life’s inevitable ups and downs and it is my passion to share the practice with others, so that they too may integrate the benefits of a sound, effective practice into their own lives.
I am eternally grateful for the support and guidance of my teachers A. G. Mohan and Indra Mohan, their son Ganesh and daughter Nitya.
